I believe God channels my energy into my art to spark joy, celebrate life, grieve death, foster personal reflection, encourage prayer, strengthen faith, and thereby increase meaningful and direct connections between people.
Victoria Rios is a mostly self-taught artist and native of Louisiana who lives in Dallas TX with her husband Julio. As a resident artist for four years at Goldmark Cultural Art Center, she has evolved as a painter in mixed media. The Feel Series is inspired by and dedicated to her daughter who faced a nearly fatal cervical condition in 2019. Upon learning the severity of her condition she was treated immediately and aggressively by a fantastic team led by an extraordinary gynecological surgeon who inspired my daughter to redirect her education and career path. Today she is on track to become a gynecologist who specializes in feminine medical conditions which often are dismissed. The Feel Series is my expression of emotion regarding my daughter’s grit and determination to survive.
