ThaoPhan

This painting is inspired by my own experience in 2012-2014. Besides the decrease in brain functions for studying and unconscious depression ( I did not realize I had it), I got involved in some psychic attacks which can be thought of as a mental illness for many people. After getting better in 2014, I heard a Japanese song that somehow described how I felt during the experience so I was inspired to paint my experience. This helped me feel like I expressed or told the story and helped release the sorrow a bit. I still have depression but more stable now.

After recovering from mental health issue, I can no longer pursue chemistry at university. I studied studio arts and graphic design at a community college. After getting my depression under control, I restarted my journey as an Asian American artist. I have start painting my artwork again and writing my book. I believe in the healing of arts and music.
