I was asked by the this woman to paint her portrait. She felt that too often pictures of people after mastectomies were negative, showing the subject as somehow damaged or diminished. That is not how she felt. I painted her as the strong, confident, beautiful woman that I saw in front of me.
I am a UK-based artist, specializing in portraits. After an Art School education, I chose to pursue a life and career outside of art for the next twenty years. A major life event led me to reassess my life, and I returned to painting. I work from a studio in south-east England. I regularly show my work in the UK and overseas. My paintings are held in collections worldwide.
