Lee Flowers
My name is Lee. PTSD is the umbrella covering my myriad of diagnoses. I was born Intersex and suffered years of medical torture by doctors trying to make me "normal". I found no solace growing up in a violent dysfunctional home. Art has been my salvation. It has given me the strength to fight through the physical and mental issues and try to reclaim my life.
I was born into chaos. My family was plagued by addiction and violence. There was little resource to help me through the journey of being born Intersex in the 60's. I have spent my life trying to understand who I am and how I fit into the world. It has been over 50 years of trying to overcome medical issues, orthopedic conditions, addiction, depression, and complex PTSD. I paint, draw, and sculpt to make sense of my life. I have spent my life as an artist and was fortunate to find my soulmate and my son to offset the trauma.
