I abstract the concrete and make concrete what is abstract. Ideas and concepts are abstract and yet can be represented in images and color. These depict feelings, experiences, and the world around us. It is for the observer to add his/her experience to the work of art. This adds another layer of the abstract which is a definite/concrete experience. Our emotions, our physical body, and what we see around us are integrated into the work of art by the artist who becomes a spokesperson.
Juli is an artist and poet who has exhibited in group and solo exhibitions in London, United Kingdom, and Cape Town, South Africa. I work both as a graphic artist and a painter and studied Art at Morley College, London, and East London.
Juli holds an MA in Creative Research degree from Roehampton University London. She has exhibited graphics and paintings in London amongst others at Morley Gallery, Menier Gallery, Greenwich Gallery, St Brides, Espacio Gallery, and in South Africa at The Cape Gallery, GalleryOne11, The Ladder, Stellenbosch Gallery.
