The artwork is showing the impending sea level rise that is coming. Here the characters have not prepared or changed their behaviour. They have not taken climate change seriously, and now it is too late. How many of us don't think climate change will be a problem for them
I am an object maker and a collage artist. I want my practice to be as environmentally sustainable as possible and collage has recycling and repurposing at its core. I create surreal images that reference simulations of the past, present and future and I am interested in hyperreality and superfiction. I identify as a working class artist and as well as making art I manage supported living services in my home city, Birmingham and I help people come out of homelessness and prepare to live independently. I graduated from The Birmingham School of Fine Art in 2004 and since then I have been a practicing artist. I have exhibited both nationally and internationally. In 2022 I was awarded funding from The Arts Council to develop my practice and I have had a piece of work acquired by a national gallery - New Art Gallery Walsall. I have also had my pieces made into public art works and billboard in Bologna, Slovenia and Birmingham.
