Gabriele Dudys

Can be seen from left to right as “The Development of the World”.

In the isolated time of the pandemic in 2021, three small, vibrant canvases emerged from deep emotions – sadness, anger, helplessness, and fear. This creative outburst initially manifested in the depiction of the beauty of the world, followed by two more paintings that illustrate its gradual decay. These works, born out of the necessity to transform inner turmoil into beauty, also offer a perspective of hope: when viewed in reverse, they tell of the creation of the world. An artistic cycle encompassing both destruction and rebirth, reflecting my journey and my response to global uncertainties. I find this series perfectly fits the theme.

I trained as a sign and poster painter in Dresden and took courses in figurative/life drawing at the Academy of Fine Arts Dresden. A member of a “circle for artistic textile design”, I have participated in many group and individual awards in competitions. I also completed studies at the Special School for Artistic Textile Design and have done freelance and textile work, as well as annual exhibitions in Dresden. I am also a member of the Association of Visual Artists Dresden. I have also worked as an occupational therapist in geriatrics/ nursing home. Now retired, I freelance lecture for caregivers.
