Mali M. Schwartz
From Chaos to Order
Oil on Canvas
20 x 20 cm
Wanting to expand her artistic abilities, Mali has enrolled in several painting classes that allowed her to hone her skills as an artist. She has been painting for almost 20 years. Mali has painted landscapes, still lives, and portraits before becoming a narrative interpretive artist when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017. After her recovery, Mali has done a number of narrative interpretive art. She began by painting her Breast Cancer Series Paintings and recently painted a driftwood series where she focuses on the environment.
Mali has taken painting lessons for almost twenty years. She feels that her experience with breast cancer made her a true artist in that she began delving deeper into interpreting her feelings through visual expression. She wants her paintings to allow her viewers to think more deeply about particular topics. When she traveled up the iconic Pacific Northwest Coast Highway in California, she stopped at a beach that had a large variety of interesting structures that residents built during Covid. She found them fascinating and decided to paint them thinking about what they represented. The overall title she has given this 4-part series of paintings is Rebuilding: A New Beginning Post Covid.
